From teacher Angela: Maddie stood at the fence watching all the men cut down the trees. We saw one big tree fall all the way to the ground in one piece. Madeline and I talked about why they were cutting down the trees, and that they were making the big trees into wood chips with the loud machine.

From teacher Angela: Madeline brought a bowl of sand over outside and held it up for me to drink out of. We pretended it was hot and burned my mouth. Maddie told me to blow on it. We also collected crab apples and put them in a bag for the garbage.

From teacher Angela: Madeline chose pieces of tape from the table during art. She pressed them one by one onto her paper, all in a line end-to-end. Outside we participated in music and movement time. Madeline practiced tossing the ball "up" and rolling it inside of a hula hoop.

From teacher Angela: Madeline spent all her time outside bonding with the new girl in the class. In the "woods," she took the girl's hands and they twirled in circles singing Ring Around the Rosie. After they all fell down, the two of them made chocolate ice cream in the sandbox.
