Nap time

When I come in and find her asleep like this it makes me wonder how much of nap time she spends playing vs. napping.

Baby Bunting!

It may be too big for me know but watch out in January when the weather in Michigan really cools down.

Hopefully a little bit of baby drool won't void Patagonia's exchange policy. Yum!

Autumn

On our way to the pumpkin patch on an unseasonably warm Autumn day. Too bad there weren't any pumpkins!

First Illness and First Touches

Madeline killed her first major virus - a nasty case of rotavirus. It hung around from mid-September to the end of the month but she didn't even miss a night of sleep! What a girl. At her four-month well-baby check Dr. B. called her an "amazon", and also a "genius" for her recently acquired two-hand reach (but hey, we knew that already). Best of all, Miss Madeline has been reaching out and holding onto Mommy and Daddy when we pick her up. It's been going on for a little while now but she seems to have perfected the hug. (Ahhh.) She's also using her reach to touch Mommy's lips and hair while nursing. (Double ahh!)

Squeals of Delight

Madeline has a new sound - the squeal! She's especially vocal first thing in the mornings when she sees mommy peak over the edge of the crib and lets out a squeal of delight. Pure glee. Oh, what a precious blessing.
