Long Holiday Weekend

Today we went to visit friend Salome to share leftover turkey and show off our snazzy new baby selves. Madeline and Salome (who is six weeks her senior) shared quite an excited moment. It was all the mommies could do to hold them back from reaching out and gumming one another silly. Later on Madeline made a breakthrough in bath time action - there's no doubt about it, the girl has realized that she can splash. A wet bathroom floor (and even wetter father's sweater) were proof of that. And that gargling cooing sound she's been making for the past two weeks? It's a "uvular trill." Now just which Portuguese speakers has she been chatting with lately?
