12/7

From Mom: Today we attended the St. Nicholas luncheon at Church. The 7 to 10-year-old girls are quite enamored with Madeline (little wonder as she always up for a tickles, kisses, and giggles). As soon as I walk into a room, they run over and ask to play with her. If appropriate, I generally let her go. As soon as I give the go ahead she's scooped up, and totted off off. For the next 30 minutes I only get quick glimpses as I do a "room scan." As usual, today Madeline enjoyed running around and around the social hall with the "big kids." She would stop every five minutes and come over to me all out-of-breath asking for a drink of "wawa." Then she was off again. She even sat to play a duck-duck-goose game, though when the big kids closed their eyes, Madeline kept peeking. I think she thought they were playing a version of peek-a-boo. She sat on the girls' laps when St. Nicolas arrived and listened attentively when he talked about sharing our gifts with those children who are less fortunate then we are. She keeps up with the big kids w/o a problem. Stepping right up w/o a tear when she trips. It's as if she's one year-and-a-half going on six! Then, of course, she passes right out. She didn't even make it through the car ride home from Church before she fell asleep.
