From Mom: As many of you know, Madeline has been using the "potty" for some time. However, this morning was the first time she used completely independently and only told me after. She even climbed up and washed her hands all by herself. What a gal!

This afternoon (when the weather warmed to a balmy 50 degrees) the two of us headed outside to try out Maddie's "new" trike. It's an old red and white radio flier that I picked up at the Salvation Army thrift shop. Unfortunately it looks a lot cooler than it rides. Maddie's still can't quite reach the pedals all the way around. As you can see from the photographs, she didn't mind wearing a helmet in the least but trying to "keep" her on the bike was a different story. (Notice the one picture with the trike in the background ...)
